This privacy notice describes how TCS EcoSafe collect and use personal data about you during and after installing the mobile application. TCS is a “data controller”. This means that we are responsible for deciding how we hold and use personal data about you. We are required under applicable data protection legislation to notify you of the information contained in this privacy notice. This notice applies to all who are eligible to access TCS EcoSafe and will download the same. It is important that you read this notice, so that you are aware of how and why we are using personal data.

Information we collect

TCS ecoSafe Mobile services are enabled once the user installs the smartphone app and signs in. The app has the capability to run in background and automatically activate when it detects driving activity or significant movement that resembles vehicle travel.

The app collects following information to analyze driving behavior

GPS data (location information, speed).

Accelerometer, gyroscope data.( for detecting movements ).

Distance travelled in a drive.

Time of ride.

Bluetooth connection information.

Email address and phone number.

Wifi Connection information.

Battery level and charging status.

Internet connectivity ( Cellular or Wifi ).

To enable our services, we also capture minimal information to authenticate and authorize a user by means of email ID or a unique member id.

How we use the information we collect?

The information collected from the application will be used for analysis of driving behavior of the users. For instance, speed data from GPS will be used to check for speeding incidents, rapid accelerations etc. We would also use the information to calculate driving behavior scores and identify driving tips to the user. The driving data collected from phone might also be combined with data from other data sources (like traffic feeds) for enhancing the application.

The location data will be leveraged in an anonymous manner for deriving insights on the pattern of use, delivering value added services (like traffic alerts etc). The anonymous location data may be used for future enhancements as well.

Email address and Phone number is collected for authenticating the user and is kept in securely encrypted format.

We anonymize and aggregate the data we collect and may use it for deriving additional insights like user comparison etc. We may share this aggregated data with our affiliates, business partners, and users. No personally identifiable information will be shared.

We may need to disclose data we collect when requred by law or other legal process in the geographies in which we operate.

Data security

TCS will take all reasonable means to ensure that the data collected from the app is stored securely.

All sensitive data like account passwords will be stored in encrypted format.

All communications will be secured by means of SSL.

TCS applications are regularly tested for security vulnerabilities and fixes ( if any ) are done to protect against any attacks.

Only authorized TCS staff will have access to have application data and adheres to TCS organizational security guidelines and practices.

Data Retention

We will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. The anonymised personal data might be retained for internal analysis purposes. Once you are no longer part of this program, we will securely destroy your personal data.

Data Subject Rights

Under circumstances, by law you have the right to:

Request access to your personal data. This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

Request erasure of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access the information. This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will let You know via email and/or a prominent notice on Our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
